Counselor, LMHC (she, her)
As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and partner at Leek Therapy, I work collaboratively with individuals and families to address barriers that may be negatively impacting their ability to function across a variety of settings. It is my goal to support clients in exploring, identifying, and implementing helpful strategies to improve their well being and overall quality of life. In session, I utilize a solution-focused and strengths-based lens and work mostly with Cognitive Behavioral and person-centered therapeutic modalities to address struggles related to anxiety, depression, and other mental health concerns.
It is important to me to consider a client's social and cultural context in order to gain a deeper understanding and best support their needs. I specialize in counseling with adolescents and adults, and am passionate about my work with the LGBTQ community. I am a strong advocate for education and awareness regarding issues related to gender and sexuality.
I urge fellow LGBTQ+ prospective clients to reach out as I know that there is a strong need for competent providers in our community. Email is my preferred method of contact. I am looking forward to hearing from you!

How Psychotherapy Can Help
Therapy can help a person in many ways, including providing emotional support, increasing someone's sense of self-awareness, developing coping skills, making behavioral changes, improving relationships, processing trauma, improv capacity for problem-solving and communication skills, and/or reducing level of stress.
What I Love About Being a Therapist
I love getting to know a wide variety of people and having the privilege of supporting them through some of life's biggest struggles. I enjoy laughing with my clients and connecting with them on an emotional level. Their trust in me and our therapeutic alliance is not something I take lightly.
How My Own Struggles Made Me a Better Therapist
I am open with my clients about my own history with struggles related to anxiety, as well as adverse childhood events and strained family relationships. I too have been in and out of therapy since I was a teenager and am a huge proponent of psychotherapy to support treatment. I can identify with many things my clients bring to me in session because because I have experienced them myself.
