JESSE LANG

LCSW (He,Him)

Jesse Lang approaches psychotherapy as a collaborative, empowering process designed to help individuals see themselves more clearly, navigate challenges, and unlock their fullest potential. He believes therapy can act as a mirror, a mentor, a support system, and a path toward meaningful healing whether someone is seeking relief from anxiety, working through trauma, or striving for greater joy and fulfillment. Guided by deep empathy, lived experience, and a commitment to ethical care, Jesse engages clients with curiosity, respect, and genuine presence, offering insight, encouragement, and evidence-based techniques tailored to their needs. He sees his role as both reflective and active: helping clients understand the patterns shaping their lives, providing tools for change, and supporting them through vulnerable and transformative moments. Jesse emphasizes that therapy moves at the client’s pace and centers their comfort, autonomy, and goals reassuring those who are hesitant that there is no harm in trying and that the process is far less intimidating than it may seem. Rooted in the belief that everyone deserves happiness, security, and unconditional acceptance, he partners with clients to explore their history, understand what has and hasn’t worked, and build the clarity and emotional flexibility needed to grow into their best selves.

My Thoughts About Therapy

My View on the Purpose of Psychotherapy

There is no ONE purpose; it all depends on what you are looking to get out of it. Some people are looking to reduce their anxious thoughts. Some are looking for joy and happiness. Others are looking to overcome trauma that is causing them to isolate and withdraw from family and loved ones. To be overly general, the purpose of psychotherapy is to heal and become the full, flexible, happy human that we can all be.

My Role as a Therapist

As a mirror, to reflect your thoughts, feelings, and actions back to you so that you may gain greater insight. As a coach, to motivate you, remind you of your progress and strengths, and identify any obstacles in your way. As a diagnostician, to identify patterns of behaviors and symptoms, and choose the appropriate treatment. As a support, to give you the courage and strength to persevere through difficult moments. As a mentor, to provide guidance, skills, and techniques that were unknown to you.
